1. ALUMNI AWARDS 2023

During the 11th induction ceremony conducted by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Juhel auditorium in the School of Pharmacy, Agulu on 21/04/2023, the faculty’s alumni demonstrated their unwavering dedication to upholding the Prof. Charles Esimone Awards for Excellence. These prestigious awards encompassed cash prizes bestowed upon the Second Best Graduating Student (2nd BGS) of the inducting class, the All-round Best Student Award for the graduating class, and the Best Lecturer Award.

In an exciting development, a new accolade, the Pharm. Caramela Agbanusi Award for the Best Behaved Student was introduced this year. Modeled after the Prof. Charles Esimone Awards, this distinction will be an annual honor presented to the most disciplined student from each graduating class. This act of benevolence further exemplifies the alumni members’ dedication to the welfare and support of future alumni.

2. ALUMNI INDUCTION 2023

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Alumni Association (FPSNAUAA) welcomed the newest batch of pharmacists into its alumni community. This year’s inductees, comprising the class of 2021, amounted to a total of 132 individuals. The event was marked by notable highlights, including an insightful speech delivered by the alumni president and the official launch of the alumni mentorship forum.

A significant outcome of the induction was the enrollment of 50 inductees into the mentorship program. These individuals eagerly registered to benefit from the guidance and firsthand knowledge offered by experienced alumni members.

3. ALUMNI LEGACY PROJECT

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Nnamdi Azikiwe University Alumni Association (FPSNAUAA) convenes a virtual meeting every quarter, providing an opportunity for learning, sharing insights, assessing alumni progress, and formulating future plans. The theme of the last quarterly meeting on April 16th 2023 centered around “Nation Building: The Role of Alumni.” Esteemed Professor Ikemefuna Uzochukwu delivered a captivating keynote address. The focal point of the discussion was the implementation of a legacy project as a means of giving back to the esteemed alma mater.

While the alumni had previously spearheaded projects within the environs of Pharmacy School, Agulu, the latest quarterly meeting served as a catalyst for the association to embark on an even larger legacy project within the faculty. Anticipated completion of this undertaking is estimated to take at least one year. The upcoming quarterly meeting is scheduled for July 2023.
